Meeting Minutes - March 19, 2009
Choconut Township
The meeting was opened by Chairperson Bill Stewart with the pledge
of allegiance.
Present: Charles Mead, Harvey Rosenkrans, Bill Goodrich, Jim Lindsey,
Ted Plevinsky, Tom Curley, Charlie Pierson, Bill Stewart, Beverly Way,
Bob Templeton, Frank Burns, Dave McGuigan, Mary Long, Kendall Mitchell,
Bruce Griffis Rudy Mattes, Joe Tims, Tom Sobonski, Tom Swan & Mary
Mead.
Visitors: Lawrence O’Reilly, Donald Rifenbury, Clifford Reed,
Gene Famorlari, Mark Creamer, Francis Fruehan, Angel Kublo, Gerald
Sullivan, Dale Webster, Kelly Harding,
Lori Raub, Sharon Norton, craig Norton, Staci Wilson, Elaine Lovec,
Donna Sechrist, Sharon Rosenkrans, Richard Green.
Roll showed a quorum of 9 municipalities present.
The minutes of the last meeting weree approved with a motion by Tom
Swan, seconded by Tom Curley, motion carried.
Treasurer report: NTC has a balance of $67,114.40 and the NTC
Composting reports a balance of $7,636.01. A motion was made by Harvey
Rosenkrans to accept the Treasurer’s report, seconded by
Dave McGuigan, motion carried.
Old Business: Nothing new on zoning except that Liberty
Twp. has voted not to adopt zoning.
Report of the Audit was presented by Mary Mead. Tom Swan motioned
to accept the audit with a second by Harvey Rosenkrans.
A discussion on whether we really need monthly meetings now that induvidual
municipalities work on either SALDO and or Zoning and whether to adopt
such. By a show of hands it was decided to do quarterly meetings with
next meeting set for June 18th at Jessup Twp.
Public Comments:
Angel Kublo ask about the Balance of SALDO-Zoning Funds. She wanted
to know if some of those funds could be used for individual municipalities.
The answer is no
Gene Famorlari inquired about the intermunicipal agreement for zoning.
It was stated that it never was signed by all municipalities.
Jerry Sullivan ask about what steps needed to be taken when not adopting
zoning with the NTC. Franklin Twp. Supervisor informed the group that
they would not be adopting zoning and that is all that needs to be
done.
Bruce Griffis, Jessup Twp Supervisor informed the group that they
would also not adopt zoning.
Dale Webster brought up the issue of municipalities working
together to solve possible issues connected with the gas companies.
A long discussion on gas well sites and pipeline ensued. It was decided
that the Susq. Co. Twp. Officials could meet to discuss these issues.
Chairperson Bill Stewart ask for a motion to adjourn, a motion was
made by Rudy Mattes and seconded by Tom Swan.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
Next meeting will be held at Jessup Township June 18th.
