Meeting Minutes - October 2008

Bridgewater Township
October 16,2008

The meeting was opened by chairperson David Darrow with the pledge of allegiance.

Present : David Darrow, Beverly Way, Chuck Mead, Frank Burns, Bob Templeton, Mary Mead, Kendall Mitchell, Brue Griffis, Mary Long, Bob Boyanowski, Rudy Mattes, Tom Curley, Bill Stewart, Terry Dugan, Tom Swan.
Visitors: Barbara Clifford, Roy Brown, Larry O’Reilly, Robert Stankiewicz, Eric Wheaton, Staci Wilson, Gene Famolari, Lori Raub Chancy Kelly, Don Blaisure & Frank Pinkowski Jr. & LarryBush

7 members answered Roll Call a Quorum

Bruce Griffis made a motion to accept the Middletown Twp. minutes of August 21,2008 as read with a second made by Chuck Mead.

Tom Curley made a motion to accept the Apolocan minutes as read  and Bill Stewart seconded that motion.

The Treasurer’ report showed a NTC balance of $8582.97 and The Composting Fund balance was $9484.84. Terry Dugan made a motion to approve this report with a second from Beverly Way.

Chairperson David Darrow presented a bill from Montrose Boro of $327.66 for fuel to be paid from the Composting Fund. Bill Stewart made a motion to pay that bill with a second from Bob Boyanowski to approve that motion.

Chairperson David Darrow informed us that Carson could not attend this meeting but he continues to make changes to the zoning ordinance suggested by member municipalities.

Several visitors questioned the need for zoning. Many have not read the ordinance. Bob Templeton once again explained why we should pass this ordinance. A lengthly discussion followed with the different Supervisors  informing the public why they decided to look into zoning. The supervisors said it is important to read the ordinance, then if there is something your don’t like let us know. 

Lori Raub presented a letter to NTC members about how tough things are right now and her views on zoning activities.

Chairperson Dave Darrow ask members if the still want someone to come to talk about the effects of Gas Companies on local roads. There was no response.

More discussion was held  between visitors and superisors. Gene Famolari wants to see another survey. Terry Dugan gave the reasons why we shouldn’t do another one.

Bill Stewart made a motion to adjourn second d by Bruce Griffis.
