Roll Call – Ten responded, a quorum
Bill Stewart made a motion to accept the minutes of the Secretary. Bruce
Griffis made the second and the vote was unanimous. Motion was
accepted.
Dave McGuigan made a motion to accept the minutes of the Treasurer. Beverly
Way made the second and the vote was unanimous. Motion was accepted.
Old Business
The Zoning Committee met and they will advertise for a Zoning Officer.
Carson has prepared a draft Subdivision Ordinance
He has written a response to the comments of Bob Wurt and Eugene Famolari.
A negative response to zoning was voiced by many visitors. Many
claimed that they had no knowledge of this initiative in spite of efforts
from the NTC to advertise at each step. Silver Lake has made
major changes to their zoning ordinance based on community participation.
Terry Dugan made a motion to post changes and remarks/responses to
the website. Bruce Griffis made the second and the vote was unanimous.
Each municipality will have a final education session before adoption. A
community education session will be scheduled for the fall.
New Business
Dave McGuigan questioned the safety of cell towers. Carson said
that the tower is made to collapse on itself. Each township
has the right to regulate the height of the tower.
Gas Leasing has prompted road concerns. The group has had many
comments from both O & G companies and PennDot. More studies
will be made and each municipality will have to decide the best solution.
