Meeting Minutes - June 2007

June 21, 2007

The meeting was opened by chairperson Tom Swan with the pledge of allegiance.

Present were: Bob Boyanowski, Tom Swan, Chuck & Mary Mead, Bill Stewart, Tom Curley, Kendall Mitchell, Marvin Small, Charlie Pierson, Bill Goodrich, Ted Plevinsky, Mary Long, Beverly Way, Janis & Dennis Bunnell, Bruce Griffis, Bill Smith, Bill Dovin & Bob Templeton.

Eight members answered Roll Call.

The Secretary’s report was presented. Bill Stewart made a motion to accept the report seconded by Chuck Mead, motioned carried.

The  Treasurer reported  a balance of  $ 58,126.15 in the NTC account with $1,772.12 in the composting account. Bob Boyanowski  made a motion to accept  the Treasurer’s report with a second by Beverly Way, motion carried.

Old Business:

Tom Swan reported that the composting grinder is now fixed.

Rob Shaw of NEP reports to Tom Swan that 3 sites for cell towers have been approved. They are on lands of  Tall Pines in Choconut Twp. Bob Kane in Bridgewater and the Everitts in Silver Lake Twp. There is plans for 10 more sites. Tom reports that they are starting in Montrose and going west.

New Business:

Tom reported that He, Ted Plevinsky, Chuck Mead, Dave Darrow, Bob Templeton and Carson Helfrich held a meeting at COG to discuss Zoning & Zoning officer and how to fund the project. Carson said he can do the training of the Zoning Officer. Ted & Chuck talked a bit about this subject. COG  would go for a 3 year grant. Chuck reported that PSATS will have a zoning officer seminar sometime in August. Ted ask all NTC members to be looking for possible candidates.

Tom Swan said that Carson wants all members to send him the revised Intergovernmental Cooperation Aggreement. He also said to have your solicitor look at it first. Also an ordinance for the creation of Planning Commission.

There was some discussion on when we will be adopting the Planning Commission & Zoning. Tom will call Carson for answers then inform everyone.

Beverly Way made a motion to pay Carson’s bill seconded by Tom Curley, motion passed.

The next meeting to be held at Liberty Township on July 19,2007

With no further business to come before the group we adjourned at 7:46 p.m. with motion by Bill Stewart and seconded by Bruce Griffis
