Meeting Minutes - June 2006
Jessup Township
June 15, 2006
7:30 PM
The meeting was opened by Chairperson Tom Swan with the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Present: Harvey Rosenkrans, Beverly Way, Marvin Small, Bob Templeton,
Rudy Mattes, Bill Stewart, Kendall Mitchell, Bob Boyanowski, William
Dovin, Bruce Griffis, Dennis Bunnell, Tom Curley, Mary Long, Chuck
Mead, Mary Mead, Ted Plavinsky, Tom Swan, Dave Darrow, James Bunnell
There was a quorum.
The Secretary’s minutes were approved. Tom Curley made
the motion, Bill Dovin the second and the vote was affirmative.
The Treasurer’s report was approved. Ending Balance $23,846.01. Ending
Balance for compost $837.76.
SALDO shares due June 1st: Apolacon, Choconut, Friendsville, Jessup,
Little Meadows.
Bill Stewart made the motion to accept, Harvey Rosenkrans the second
and the motion passed.
Meeting with the Commissioners was informative. Many grants
available for a number of projects. Large cities apply but smaller
municipalities do not. Discussion topics: NEP phone, Rt. 706, multi-state
electric transmission lines, RR Authority, There will be a seminar
on June 30th about trails. Rudy Mattes reported that the seminar
on signs was helpful.
Composting: Need to close the gate. Price of compost remains
at $25.00. New round of grants and Chris Fritz will mail the
paperwork. Tom Shill will write grants. Grant round closes
in October and no information until March ’07.
Road Turnback monies: PSATS will have to formulate and help with this
matter. Chuck Mead, Bruce Griffis and Dave Darrow to keep us
in touch. Senator Madigan’s office met with local municipalities
to discuss the need for more money. Fewer people are driving
so there is less liquid fuel money.
Representative Sandy Major asks that we oppose the high power line
that is to swing into PA but give us no current. NYC to get it
all.
